Purani Dilli 6 comenzará su campaña DPL 2025 contra los guerreros exteriores de Delhi el 5 de agosto en el estadio Arun Jaitley.
Rishabh Pant opened the Delhi Premier League (DPL). In the inaugural match of the league, the wicketkeeper batter led the Purani Dilli 6. Due to a hectic schedule and workload management, Pant didn’t play the remaining matches. But having him was great for DPL and all of his teammates. Sharing the dressing room with one of the world’s best batters is a great learning opportunity.
Since Team India isn’t scheduled to play in August, many hoped Pant would play in the DPL 2025 season. Purani Dilli 6 retained him for Rs 21 lakh, which suggested that he might just play for them. That won’t be happening.

Purani Dilli 6 strong, even without Pant
Although the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) hasn’t confirmed how long it’ll take for Pant to recover from the foot injury, it’s expected that he’ll need about 6 weeks to get back to his best. That means he’ll miss the entire DPL 2025.
Purani Dilli 6 captain Vansh Bedi has spoken about not having Pant. The 22-year-old shared that the team wasn’t sure if Pant would play for them even before he got injured. Bedi says Pant won’t be missed much.
As mentioned above, the wicketkeeper had played just one match, and even without him, they reached the semifinal. Bedi’s sure Purani Dilli will be able to field their best playing XI and get a chance to win their maiden title.
“From the start, Rishabh bhaiya playing for us was dicey. We didn’t have any confirmation of when he’ll join the team. The way we have been planning, we’ll play with the best XI.
Last year, when he came, it was the cherry on top of the cake. Whatever happened, it happened for the good. I can’t tell about the future right now. If we talk about last year, he played just one game for us, so it won’t be a big change for us,” Bedi said during the pre-tournament press conference at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.
