Three important topics will be discussed at the ICC AGM. The BCCI has responded to claims of forcing Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli to announce their Test retirements. Sanju Samson may not leave the Rajasthan Royals for the Chennai Super Kings. England has been punished by the ICC. Joe Root reclaims his No. 1 Test batter mantle. And England has been accused of trying to physically hurt Jasprit Bumrah.

All eyes on ICC meeting
An ICC AGM is scheduled for July 17 in Singapore. One of the major talking points will be the future of Test cricket. A conversation regarding a two-tier system might be a major one. Discussions regarding the qualifications process of the LA 2028 Olympics will also be had since its dates have been announced. However, that won’t be all. On the sidelines, it’s expected that BCCI and PCB will also have a chat about the fate of the Asia Cup 2025.

Rohit-Kohli were retired by BCCI?
BCCI Vice-President Rajeev Shukla has once and for all cleared that the board had nothing to do with Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli’s Test retirement. He stated clearly that BCCI has never forced someone to retire since it’s a personal decision. The board is pleased that the modern greats will continue to play ODI cricket.

Samson CSK-RR trade rumour
For some time now, there have been reports that RR might trade Sanju Samson to CSK. It all seemed true due to the actions of Samson and his agent. Even CSK officials were hinting at it. But it may not be happening after all. Samson met with an RR coach, clearly showing that his relationship with the franchise remains in a positive light.

England trying to injure Bumrah?
Former Indian batter Mohammad Kaif thinks that English fast bowlers were trying to injure Jasprit Bumrah by deliberately bowling bouncers at his head, hand, or shoulder. Since they couldn’t play him, the English quicks were trying to injure Bumrah, as per Kaif.

WTC points table change
England has been docked two points by the ICC for maintaining a slow over rate in the Lord’s Test. Ben Stokes’ team has climbed up the WTC points table ladder after their second win of the cycle, but the reduction of two points has seen Sri Lanka go up to number two and them slide down to three.

New ICC Test batting rankings
Joe Root has taken back the No. 1 Test batter spot from his teammate Harry Brook after scoring his 37th hundred. He’s the oldest player to claim the spot since Kumar Sangakkara in 2014. Shubman Gill has slipped down three spots to 9 after twin failures at Lord’s, while Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rishabh Pant go one spot down each as well.
