Ben Stokes lanzó 140 overs y enfrentó 581 entregas en las cuatro pruebas. Como resultado, ha sufrido una lesión que lo ha descartado de la quinta prueba.
England captain Ben Stokes has his worst nightmare come true. He has suffered another injury, which is likely to keep him out for three months. Hence, he isn’t happy with IND vs ENG Test schedule. Stokes believes the scheduling could have been better to spread the days evenly to avoid any injuries. England will face India for the final Test of the series after just a three-day gap.
“Yes, perhaps the scheduling could be done better. Two Tests had eight or nine-day breaks. Also, we have a two three-day gap. This could be done better, maybe four or five days of gap for every Test to maintain the consistency,” Ben Stokes said ahead of the IND vs ENG 5th Test at the Oval.
Scheduling problem
While there have been breaks in between the Test series, it has not been spread out evenly. After the first Test in Leeds, there was a seven-day gap before the Birmingham Test. Then, there was just a three-day gap before the 3rd Test. Ahead of the 4th Test, players had an eight-day rest. But once again, there is just a three-day gap before the final Test.
With all four Tests going into Day 5, players have had a heavy workload and little time to rest. Ben Stokes has bowled 140 overs in the series. At Lord’s, Stokes bowled two long spells of nine and 10 overs in the 2nd innings. In the last Test, Stokes bowled a long spell of eight overs in the 2nd innings after batting for a long period.
However, Stokes isn’t the only player to face the problem. Mohammed Siraj, Chris Woakes and Ravindra Jadeja all have had an extensive workload. Jasprit Bumrah has already been rested once during the series to manage his workload.

Ben Stokes ruled out with injury
As a result of his workload, Ben Stokes has suffered a Grade III muscle tear in his right shoulder. The England captain will miss the final Test at the Oval. He will also miss action for at least three months. With 17 wickets and 304 runs, Ben Stokes has been the most crucial player for England in this series.
With India having a chance to make a comeback and draw the series, England will not only miss their captain but also their best all-rounder and best bowler in Stokes.
