The pacer’s addition to the side comes amid uncertainty over Arshdeep Singh and Akash Deep’s availability for the game at Old Trafford. Shubman Gill and co. will be looking to level the series, currently poised in England’s favour 2-1, with a win at the Old Trafford.

Anshul Kamboj added to India squad ahead of IND vs ENG 4th Test

As per The Indian Express, a source informed that the selectors have decided to add Kamboj to the squad as Arshdeep Singh has stitches to his hand after suffering a cut during training and will take at least 10 days to recover. Anshul had a good outing in England earlier in June where he was a part of India A. The pacer managed to take 5 wickets in 3 matches.

“Arshdeep has a deep cut and has had stitches, he will take at least ten days to get completely fit. The selectors have decided to add Kamboj in the squad,” a BCCI source said

India are currently boggled by multiple injury concerns ahead of the IND vs ENG 4th Test. Arshdeep sustained a cut to his hand during a training session before the tie in Manchester. Pacer Akash Deep has a groin niggle that he sustained on Day 4 of IND vs ENG 3rd Test at Lord’s. He did not bowl in India’s net session before the team’s departure to Manchester.

Meanwhile, it remains unclear if Rishabh Pant is fully fit. The Indian vice-captain had to hand over the gloves to Dhruv Jurel after he was struck on his hand while attempting to save a delivery off Jasprit Bumrah from going to the boundary. Thereafter, he only batted in the Lord’s Test – that too in extreme discomfort.
