Con IPL 2025 concluyendo solo un par de meses antes, las conversaciones comerciales entre equipos ya han comenzado para la temporada 2026
It’s been nearly just 2 months since IPL 2025 ended and the speculations around possible trade between teams has already begun. Five-time champions Chennai Super Kings are reportedly aiming at a revamp, wanting to let go of a few players, including Ravichandran Ashwin and Rachin Ravindra. In the build up to the IPL 2026 trade window, let’s tale a look at the most expensive trade deals in the history of the IPL.
Most expensive IPL trade deals
1. Cameron Green (Rs 17.50 crore)
Australia star Cameron Green was traded by Mumbai Indians (MI) to Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) for a whooping Rs 17.5 crore before IPL 2024. He ended up amassing 255 runs from 13 matches for RCB in that season, averaging 31.87. Green wasn’t able to replicate his form from IPL 2023, where he not only scored 452 runs but also had a century to his name. In 2025, he wasn’t a part of the IPL as he was recovering from a back injury.
2. Hardik Pandya (Rs 15 crore)
Hardik Pandya is the second most expensive trade in IPL history so far. After leading Gujarat Titans for a couple of seasons and winning an IPL trophy, MI decided to acquire the services of the all-rounder once again in IPL 2024. GT traded Hardik for a sum of Rs 15 crore after which he replaced Rohit Sharma as the new MI captain.
3. Shardul Thakur (Rs 10.75 crore)
Shardul Thakur was bought by Delhi Capitals (DC) after he was released by CSK post IPL 2021. He was then traded to Kolkata Knight Riders for Rs 10.75 crore in 2023. However, he made bare mimimum impact, managing to pick just 7 wickets from 11 games. He played IPL 2024 for CSK and subsequently went on to play for LSG as an injury replacement in 2025.
4. Lockie Ferguson (Rs 10 crore)
GT had bought New Zealand pacer Lockie Ferguson for an amount of Rs 10 crore in 2022. However, they decided to trade him to KKR in the very next season. During his stint with GT, he managed to pick 12 wickets from 13 matches. In the next season, he played only 3 matches for KKR and picked up just 1 wicket. Ferguson went on to represent RCB and PBKS in 2024 and 2025 respectively, managing to take just 9 and 5 wickets.
5. Avesh Khan (Rs 10 crore)
After representing Rajasthan Royals for a year, Avesh Khan was traded to LSG for Devdutt Padikkal for a sum of Rs 10 crore. The pacer recorded his second-best performance in the IPL by picking 19 wickets for RR in 2024. In 2024, he returned to LSG to bag 13 wickets from as many games, overcoming injury woes at the starting of the league.
