Ravindra Jadeja walked into bat at the stroke of lunch on the fall of Shubman Gill’s wicket. With Rishabh Pant injured, the onus was on Jadeja to bat for long enough to push India towards a draw.
He took to that task effectively, blocking with purpose. The left hander rotated the strike well and cashed on the loose deliveries to score a fine half century.
