There were talks of the left-hander being drafted in the playing XI, but that might just put the plans on hold for now. There is no clarity on fitness status, and if he will be fine before the 4th Test.

But Ryan Ten Doeschate hinted that Pant might regain fitness, but might not keep wickets. “He will bat in Manchester before the Test. I don’t think you’re gonna keep Rishabh out of the Test no matter what. He batted with quite a lot of pain in the 3rd Test, and it’s only going to get easier on his finger,” ten Doeschate said.
