Ind vs Eng: Rishabh Pant había herido su dedo en la mano izquierda durante la prueba de Lord, y Dhruv Jurel tuvo que mantener wickets en su nombre.

So, Team India might just opt to go with Dhruv Jurel in the Manchester Test. Assistant coach Ryan Ten Doeschate indicated on Thursday, that Rishabh Pant is likely to be fit in time for the 4th Test, but whether he’ll keep wickets, is a question to be answered later. He also said that the team management is being cautious about his finger injury, that troubled him during the Lord’s Test as well.

Rishabh Pant Expected to Regain Fitness for Manchester Test

“He will bat in Manchester before the Test. I don’t think you’re gonna keep Rishabh out of the Test no matter what. He batted with quite a lot of pain in the 3rd Test, and it’s only going to get easier on his finger,” ten Doeschate said. “Keeping is the last part of the process. We need to make sure that he can keep — we don’t want to go through that again where we have to replace the keeper halfway through an innings,” he added.

Might Not be Able to Keep Wickets

In fact, Rishabh Pant sat out of the training session on Thursday, at Beckenham, to give himself enough time to recover. “But he rested today, was trying to give the finger as long as possible, and hopefully, he’s good to go in Manchester in the first session. He is in the equation, but I mean if he’s fit, he plays the next Test and does both,” ten Doeschate added.

Meanwhile, India have been excellent in the series, and came close to beating England, twice. They were in contention to win the first Test — lost on the last day, and similar was the case in the third Test at Lord’s as well. They lost by a mere 22 runs.
