In a surprise move, J&K fast bowler Rasikh Salam is going to represent Baroda for the 2025/26 domestic season, after getting an NOC from the JKCA. Brigadier Anil Gupta, who happens to be the Member Administration of the body, confirmed of the development. Salam was last seen in action during IPL 2025 for champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru, although he warmed the bench for majority of the tournament.
Rasikh Salam moves to Baroda
“Yes, we have given him the NOC. I don’t remember exactly when the NOC was issued, but I believe it was done maybe five to six days ago. If he wants to play anywhere else, what difference does it make to us? We have given NOC to six players this time. We have enough talent and enough pool of players with us,” said Gupta to IANS.
Meanwhile, Rasikh Salam was one of the most sought after pacers in the domestic circuit in the country. He also played two matches for IPL 2025 winners, RCB as well. Apart from that, in 5 FC matches, he has 13 wickets, while in List A, he has as many scalps to his name.
On the other hand, there are also murmurs that Jitesh Sharma might also represent Baroda in the upcoming season. He is yet to get an NOC from Vidarbha though. Coming back to Rasikh Salam, his decision might have been influenced by Krunal Pandya, who was his teammate at RCB, and is also the reigning Baroda skipper, as per IANS.
“It is for sure that Krunal would have helped Rasikh move to Baroda since they were teammates in RCB in the IPL this year. He wants to win a trophy in the coming domestic season and is focused on building a unit for that purpose,” added the source.
